Ann-Cathrin Daly

Bio

Ann-Cathrin (Annie) is a Trinity College Psychology graduate who after her BA honours degree, specialised in Integrative Psychotherapy with The Tivoli Institute. She is currently doing a Master of Science in Child and Adolescent Counselling and Psychotherapy with Middlesex University.

Her style of working is integrative/holistic, incorporating elements of the psychodynamic, person/child-centered, and cognitivebehavioural approaches, as well as developmental and life-span psychology.

Since no two people are the same she believes in integrating different styles of working, depending on the persons age, life circumstances and reasons for coming to therapy.

Ann-Cathrin is multi-lingual and can work therapeutically in English, Swedish and Norwegian, with adults and children.

Adult Therapy

We all go through difficult periods in life and from time to time it can be very beneficial to our over-all health to talk about struggles and feelings with an empathic, neutral therapist. Ann- Cathrin has experience helping people with a range of issues including bereavement, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, performance anxiety for musicians and more. She also has a special interest in women’s midlife transition and menopause related issues. Therapy with her can be long-term or shortterm depending on the clients need.

Child and Adolescent Therapy

Apart from being a mother and grandmother herself, Ann- Cathrin has worked with children and teenagers both in one to one sessions in private practise and in charity organisations, as well as in teenage residential care.

She has recently joined The Remedy Clinic and offers play therapy for younger children and teenage counselling and psychotherapy for older teens and young adults. There are many reasons a parent might like their child to come for therapy and common issues are:

  • Parents separating
  • Bullying or anxiety around school and friends
  • Bereavement (a person or pet)
  • Behavioural or emotional issues
  • Low self-esteem

For more information about what play therapy and youth psychotherapy is, don’t hesitate to contact Ann-Cathrin through the Remedy Clinic for a free initial phone consultation.

Ann-Cathrin is a fully qualified, insured psychotherapist who is a pre-accredited member of the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP) and a graduate member of The British Psychological Society
